I don’t think so.
I listen to Christian rock, I don’t see the problem. It’s worshiping God.
The bible says “Make a joyful noise”. It doesn’t say it can’t be loud!
“God” created sound… so what does he care?
Nah, I think God has taste too and thinks Christian music is a waste of space like everybody else
All I can say is if God likes it, he has a lot worse musical taste than I thought. Most of it’s really bad stuff, musically speaking; I can’t imagine anybody listening to it for long who has any kind of real musical training, or even a pretty decent ear!
maybe, but it sucks so much, that when i listen to it, my ears bleed. i think even god, if he does exist, would agree.
It has good intentions but what god are they worshipping? The one true god? Or one that christianity created?
Check this out-
Christian “rock” doesn’t do anybody any good.
i think that the lyrics are great but i don’t really think its that good. i don’t feel the spirit when i listen to it but if you do then okay. i like listening to jenny philips. she’s really good. she’s more spiritual with a beautiful voice. when im done listening to her, i always cry
What makes you think it would matter if it is Christian rock or not as long as it’s praising and worshiping God?
“There is no Christian music, only Christian lyrics” – Rick Warren
Music itself is just kind of a vehicle for it’s message – good or bad. But God did create music for his glory… what man does with it is another matter.
1 Cor. 9:22 Paul says be all things to all people to move the Good News out. If people connect with rock, and it moves the Kingdom, then it’s great. And it does happen all the time.
While you are listening to Christian rock don’t you feel closer to him? The words are for him and to him so in my opinion yes it is to his glory and anything that might bring you closer to him is good.
But like any choice you make it is really just between you and God.
No. Its just Krapp for the masses, made for the financial glory of those who sell and produce it.
It’s fine. It’s not the type of music that matters. It is the message that matters.
As God’s creations all constructive human activity glorifies God. All music sings God’s praise. So, you should have better taste; listen to real rock.
I don’t think that there is any form or type of music that is any more or less holy than any other.it depends on the lyrics, combined with the tune, and how it makes you feel.
Absolutely it does glorify God and praises Him. Why would it not be good for you? I firmly believe that many of the songs coming from Christian rock are inspired by God. They are inspirational and uplifting and declare God as the one and only God of the universe. Join them praising and loving God it will take you to the throne room of God.
The music itself is not what glorifies God, it is the heart. So if Christian Rock does not say anything that goes against Scripture then it is absolutely ok to listen too. I know some young people that have come to know Jesus through a Christian Rock Concert. If the lyrics are God honoring, of course it is ok.
The music has nothing at all to do with whether or not it glorifies God, it is all in the words.
As long as the words are glorifying God then the music genre does not matter.
Psalm 150 states “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord…”
The Bible makes no comment on the possibility of any melody, harmony, genre of music, volume or cadence being essentially evil. No comment. So, “Let everything that has breath (by the way, drums make noise by air…or breath) Praise the Lord.”
And, why should the devil have all the good music…
While all genres of Christian music essentially glorify God, I fell like Christian rock is one of the worst. A ton of the music is simply re-writing old worship songs with rock music. The original stuff relies heavily on short, unimaginative, repetitive lyrics aimed at the single focal point (God is great, Jesus is the savior), but anybody listening already knows the point.
Why can’t Christian music be creative and entertaining? I know the hearts of the artists are in the right place, but at times it seems like they aren’t even trying. The Bible, New and Old Testaments, are rich with history and lessons that could easily be adapted to music (especially rock music, such as ballads).
I can imagine God hearing Christian rock and thinking, “Gee, another song where 3/4 of the lyrics are the word “holy”, guys, I appreciate it, but could you entertain Me a little bit?”
if you ask me, most CHRISTIANS aren’t glorifying God
regardless of their music
I think almost all music glorifies God in that we are expressing a gift from God with our talent.
I do not care for Christian music in the main, but for those who do, yes it glorifies God as well.
this is an area of personal preference as weather you like it or not…God always looks at the heart and if your heart is loving God praising him, worshiping him without hypocrisy God doesn’t care if its country, rap, hymns, gregorian chant, or bongo drums. There is one scripture where Paul says I am all things to all people so that some may gain Christ; on the other side it does say do not imitate the world or the things in the world…The scripture is not clear but God discerns our hearts with perfect clarity, I will worship in Spirit and in truth no matter what medium is being offered.
personally…i dont believe in god. im athiest. but dont stop reading because i dont.
i think that if the is a god, then he wont mind the style of music you listen to, how it sounds, or even what the lyrics are. you could listen to lincoln park if you wanted and im pretty sure he wouldnt like damn you to hell or anything. that really would be dumb. if there is a god i dont think there really would be a “hell”
i dont think there is anything that could possibly make the only “perfect” mans father get so angry at someone that he would send them to a place of torture for eternity.
I think God can use all things to speak to people heart.
It also would depend on the actual song, not all Christian music is sincere, some do it because they can’t make it in the major music genres,-rap,country,pop, rock etc etc. But they have talent and it can catapult them into fame of sorts. We all have those that are saved the Holy Spirit that can help us discern the sincerity of the song and the artist behind it. I try to listen for the meaning behind the lyrics, to see if its lifting up and glorifying the Lord or just having a form of godliness and deny the power there of, which often tends to be the case. We have to be careful also that we’re listening to the song not just for the sound or music sake. But if it sounds like the world or can be confused for the world, then I would wonder if it’s ,really pleasing to God, because He said be not of the world be separate and come out from among them… there should be something different about the song or music style in general that sets it apart and should draw us closer to Christ. Not all is bad, not all is good..if we put it before God’s Word or substitute it for our worship and praise in Prayer..its wrong too
Your right though everything we do should be for His glory honor and Praise.
I believe so. That is the new age. That gets the kids attention to where they want to worship the Lord. The Lord doesn’t tell people how to praise Him. It does speak of people who do have opinions on how others praise him. Read Matt. 18:6-11.
